Robin Jones has joined the Manchester office of planning consultancy CBRE as an assistant planner.

Jones has landed her first permanent position in the sector after a two month graduate placement with Birmingham City Council’s planning and regeneration department last year.

In that role, she gained experience of assessing pre-applications, planning applications, as well as strategic planning documents and planning committees.

She said of her experience at Birmingham: “It allowed me to work on 'live' projects and provided me with first-hand insight into the workings of the system, political aspects included.”

Jones is currently completing a master’s degree in urban and regional planning at the University of Birmingham.

She has a bachelor’s degree in geography and Hispanic studies during which she focused on urban planning and regeneration, spending a year abroad at the University of Grenada

She is proficient in Spanish, Portuguese and Welsh.
