Brick Kiln FarmHume Planning Consultancy has expanded by recruiting Karen Banks as senior development planner to focus on large residential projects.

Banks joined the practice, based in Sandwich, east Kent, from planning consultancy Lee Evans Partnership in Canterbury. She takes the number of planners at the firm to four.

Principal Alister Hume told Planning: "Karen is mainly involved in development control and will deal with a caseload of large residential projects.

"We have had a lot residential work coming through in recent months, which has prompted us to expand."

The firm said that recent project work has included Brick Kiln Farm in Cranbrook, Kent (pictured), a large greenfield site with capacity for up to 250 homes.
