Hertsmere civic officersIncreasing volumes of work has prompted Hertsmere Borough Council to look to expand its development management team.

Environment director Glen Wooldridge told Planning: “The volume of work is very high due to the borough’s proximity to London; the very buoyant housing market locally, and the recent designation of a Housing Zone in Borehamwood.”

The council is looking to expand its development management team, which currently numbers 21 planning, enforcement and admin staff, by taking on two more planning officers.
