Property consultancy Alder King has promoted planner Matt Halstead to become a partner in the firm.

Halstead (pictured right) joined the firm as a town planner in 2008 and has worked his way up through a variety of positions, most recently associate.

He will continue with his current workload, specialising in the coordination of major planning applications, including environmental impact assessments and strategic site promotion.

Martyn Jones, Alder King’s senior partner (pictured left), said: “Matt has worked extremely hard to help deliver what has been a very successful year for the firm.”

Prior to joining Alder King, Halstead worked as a town planner at development consultancy Neil Hadley Associates. He began his career in planning as assistant planning policy officer at Cheltenham Borough Council.

In 2006, he gained a master’s degree in town and country planning from the University of Birmingham.

Rose Fox, who joined Alder King’s planning team as a graduate planner last year, has now been elected as a Chartered Member of the RTPI, having successfully completed her APC.
