Environmental and rural development consultancy ADAS has appointed a graduate planning consultant in its Leeds office.

Chris Tinsley joins the firm after graduating from Newcastle University with a post graduate diploma in town planning.

He also worked for a year at planning consultancy Peacock and Smith as part of a bachelors in town planning, also from Newcastle University.

Robert Edwards, principal consultant at ADAS said: “Chris was the stand-out candidate we saw during this recruitment process.

“His main attributes were that he was very switched on to the commercial aspects of how planning consultancy works, showed good all round knowledge of the UK planning and development control system and showed a real positivity about the role and a career in this sector.”

In his new role, Tinsley will support colleagues in the preparation, management and submission of planning applications on behalf of clients, including preparing application documentation.

He will also assist with planning appeals, community consultation, and environmental impact assessments.

In addition, the role will involve helping to win new business through the preparation of quotes, sales material, and market research.
