Gloucester planning consultancy McLoughlin Planning is expanding due to an upturn in the development market.

The firm works on projects for private firms and commercial developers in the South West of England and the Midlands.

The practice, based in Gloucester Docks, is advertising for two positions at either planner or senior planner levels.

Director Nathan McLoughlin, who founded the firm in 2009, said: “We are looking to take the firm up from four members of staff to six due to an improvement in the economy and increasing demand for our services.

“We have got an increasing client book and an increasing demand from landowners who are looking for us to help them come up with ideas for how to maximise value from their land and get round planning problems.”

In a statement, the firm said that the ideal candidates will have experience on a variety of planning projects and good client handling skills.

Earlier this year, the firm provided written evidence on behalf of Gloucestershire Airport to the examination in public of the joint core strategy being prepared by Gloucester City Council, Cheltenham Borough Council, and Tewkesbury Borough Council.
