Simone Pagani has been promoted to partner at London-based surveying and design consultancy GIA.

Pagani, previously associate partner, heads the firm’s daylight and solar design team, assisting clients with planning applications to help use natural light within schemes to optimise energy efficiency.

Pagani gained a BA in spatial design from the University of the Arts London in 2004 and an MSc in architecture from London Metropolitan University in 2007.

Alex Buckley is also promoted from senior consultant to associate partner in the same department.

Senior surveyors Stephen Friel, Mark Feighery and Mark Kidd have all been promoted to associate partner within the rights of light, daylight and sunlight team, which advises on planning applications with rights of light implications.

GIA currently has 85 employees, and told Planning that it expects to grow further over the next year.
