Fox joins Gillespies as urban design head in the North

Jim Fox at GillespiesChartered planner Jim Fox has joined landscape and urban design firm Gillespies’ Manchester office as head of urban design in the North of England.

Fox joins from built environment practice IBI Group, formerly known as Taylor Young, where he spent 15 years as a director.

He will work on masterplanning residential, town centre and infrastructure projects across the region.

Fox has also worked as a regeneration team leader at Salford City Council, a programme manager at environmental charity Groundwork and as a consultant at consultancy URBED.

He is a visiting fellow at Sheffield Hallam University and a member of the Design Council CABE national design review panel.

He has a diploma in planning studies, urban design, from Oxford Brookes University.

Recent projects he has worked on include an urban extension at Ashton Green in Leicester, an urban design framework in Ashton Town Centre, and a masterplan design guidance and landscape strategy for a mixed-use urban extension in Northallerton.
