David JonesA jump in workloads for housing, hotels and student accommodation has prompted Evans Jones to expand its planning team.

Managing director and head of the firm's planning division, David Jones, (pictured) told Planning: “Over the last 24 months we've seen a steady growth.

“We have reached a point where we need to recruit more staff to meet and exceed the expectations of out clients. Around 80% of our work has a bed in it – care homes, halls of residence, housing.”

The firm, based in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, is looking to expand its team of three planners by taking on an additional planner.

Jones said: “The fourth planner will deal with applications and appeals for a range of developments, from small residential schemes to ones with 200 to 300 units.”
