Harman Sond has been appointed as a senior planner at London-based planning consultancy Drawing and Planning.

In his new role Sond will be responsible for providing planning advice on projects “ranging from the smallest permitted developments to large schemes”, according to the company.

He was previously a senior planner at RE Limited, a joint venture between the London Borough of Barnet and Capita.

Jeremy Stein, CEO of Drawing and Planning, said the firm recruited Sond as a “replacement and an upgrade”.

He said the firm had sought more senior expertise due to shifting demands from clients.

Stein said: “[There] is a lot of technical [work] coming up because of the new prior approval laws and also councils are getting a lot more restrictive, for example in the Article 4 restrictions.

“So we need more skilled staff and more staff who have come from planning departments who can actually challenge and deal with a lot of this stuff.”
