Burgeoning demand for housing has prompted a developer to strengthen its planning service.

Welbeck Land, based in London, has recruited Anna Chew from Nexus Planning to be a strategic land planning manager and is hoping to take on more planning staff in the coming months.

Partner Adrian Bouch (pictured) told Planning: “The main thrust of our work is residential and with the general election looming it becomes more and more political.

“But this does not seem to have manifested itself in a hiatus of work, which happened around the time of the last election.

“All the parties seem to realise that housing is fundamental and whoever wins is unlikely to change things to slow down the process.

“It is however still a lengthy process and we need staff to deal with the workload and will need more in the near future.”
