Demand for major infrastructure initiatives has prompted a local authority expand its development control team.

North Lincolnshire Council has recruited Mark Beevers from East Riding of Yorkshire Council to be its new principal planning officer.

Head of development management Phil Wallis told Planning: “Mark will be responsible for, among other things, the smooth delivery of large strategic proposals and managing the council's involvement with Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIP).

“We are currently dealing with a wide range of exciting industrial, education and housing schemes several of which fall within the NSIP regime. North Lincolnshire is a very attractive and affordable place to live and work.

“The planning service is currently dealing with numerous major projects such as the Able Marine Energy Park and the Lincolnshire Lakes housing and employment schemes.

“Such initiatives will provide huge levels of investment along the Humber Estuary and to the west of Scunthorpe.”
