The three new recruits

Planning and design consultancy Barton Willmore has expanded its Newcastle office on the back of an increase in workload driven by the National Planning Policy Framework.

It has taken on three planners at its Newcastle office, open for 15 months. Partner James Hall told Planning: “There's an upturn and we're pulling out of recession, but a lot of it is driven by the NPPF, which is freeing up housebuilders to get on with their sites and giving them more confidence to crack on.”

Associate planner Martyn Earle previously worked for Banks Group and North Tyneside Council. Senior planner Shaun Cuggy  previously worked for Nathanial Lichfield & Partners, while senior planner Chris Martin moved from Barton Willmore's Leeds office .
