Leicester town hallLeicester City Council is ramping up its planning IT systems and looking to expand by recruiting a highly computer-literate planner.

Manager of the geographic planning and information team Ian Robertson told Planning: "We are reinvesting in our IT services to increase the efficiency of our planning staff.

"We are running a bit behind the curve and doing a little catching up, hence the need for a new member of staff for our team."

The council is looking to recruit a senior planing information management officer to process planning applications and produce planning statistics.

The new member of staff will be in addition to a team including eight planners in policy and nine in development management.
