A Midlands local authority is continuing to expand its planning team following a restructure last year which sought to boost economic development.

Last year, a planning restructure at Nuneaton & Bedworth council brought planning policy and economic development together into one team to help foster a more joined-up strategic approach to encourage investment.

The restructure involved taking on new planning staff and the council is now looking to recruit a principal planning policy and economic development officer as part of this, according to head of planning policy and economic development, Kelly Ford.

Ford said that the successful candidate would take forward work on the council’s borough plan and economic development strategy.

“The role will involve leading and project managing the economic development strategy to ensure coordinated delivery with planning policy related work,” said Ford.
