Consultancy Bidwells is looking to expand its team in East Anglia in response to a 'widening variety and amount' of work on its books.

Cambridge planning team head and practice partner Marcia Whitehead (pictured) told Planning that the office currently comprises 14 planners and the firm is “looking to recruit to deal with a widening variety and amount of project work from clients.”

Whitehead said that the new recruit would do site assessments and look at planning histories as well as policy analysis.

They would also work with officers at local planning authorities and undertake work to support planning statements.

“We are putting a particular focus on expanding at the more junior levels, giving new recruits experience of being involved in projects across our operating area”, said Whitehead.

Bidwells’ clients include the Cambridge colleges and projects range from urban extensions and new settlements to work for the bio-medical sector.
