Planning consultancy Barton Willmore has launched a recruitment drive after seeing an increase in workload in many of the firm’s offices.

The company says that it has “a number of openings” for town and retail planners in its Leeds, London, Newcastle and Solihull offices after winning a significant volume of new work in the last 18 months.

Speaking to Planning, senior partner Ian Tant said: “Many of Barton Willmore’s offices and planning teams are experiencing a marked uplift in workloads and there is a genuine feeling that confidence is returning to the development industry.

“Our success means that we are looking for talented people to help our teams continue to provide our high quality service to clients. This is both reacting to the current levels of instructions and ensuring that we are well resourced for the work we anticipate in the coming year.

“There is a distance to go yet until we are back to pre-recession work levels but after a difficult period for everyone in the industry the signs are definitely positive.”
